How to make a Sausage & Cheese Frittata Step-by-Step
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- grease a 9″ pyrex pie plate with your preferred oil (i.e. olive, coconut)
- heat a frying pan with a little bit of butter (to reduce stickiness) on medium heat
- Put package of hot breakfast sausage into the frying pan
- Once the sausage loses all of its pink coloring, drain the excess fat (allow to cool)
- Crack 6 eggs into a separate mixing bowl
- Using a fork, beat the eggs until the yolks and egg whites are mixed together
- Continue beating the eggs while mixing in one small container (1 pint) of heavy whipping cream
- Once the sausage is cool, mix in the sausage with the eggs and heavy whipping cream mixture along with one cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- Once well mixed, pour into the greased pyrex pie plate
- Use a fork to distribute all of the cheese and sausage evenly
- (Optional) Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top of the mixture… I love cheese so I do it
- Place pyrex pie plate with frittata mixture into the oven
- Allow the frittata to bake for 30 minutes
- After 30 minutes, insert a fork into the middle of the frittata, if the fork comes out clean then it is ready, if the fork comes out with egg on it then allow for the frittata to bake for additional 5 minute increments until a fork comes out clean
